Linux Mint 10

Both BackTrack and GnackTrack have presented me with annoying problems. Linux Mint, however, has never failed me. My favorite so far has been 8, but I wanted to see if 10 lives up to the hype. As the forth most used desktop distribution, I would absolutely suggest Linux Mint to anyone. So far my only experience with 10 is what I saw while installing from LiveDVD, however I will be sure to post more about my experiences. Within the next few postings, I will likely be discussing my Linux Mint experiences, along with various Linux tips and tricks, and links to (and walkthroughs of) various Linux penetration testing tools.

  2. I would like to try Linux Mint, but I'm on a pretty old laptop right now, I'll learn to have two OS's (Windows for gaming), when I build a new desktop!

  7. @Nina: It really doesn't require all that much effort. If you ever decide to give it a shot, feel free to come to me with any questions.

@las3R: For an average user, Ubuntu or Linux Mint would be your best bet. Absolute ease of use, along with functionality and a beautiful UI.

@Charles: Go for it! I love dual boots. I really only use Windows for gaming.

  8. I tried Linux once but it was such a pain to upgrade hardware drivers so I gave up.
